We received a warm welcome from the church family of Parkview Baptist Church. Pastor and Mrs. Brown were very kind to us, and we enjoyed our time here. This church has a strong connection to Crown College as all of the pastor's children and many members have attended Crown. We met many current students and graduates of Crown such as Daniel Brown, Jeremiah Williams, Cory Shultz, and Kristina Sharpeta. Alyssa Cooke is also a member of this church but was able to attend the evening service.

Many teens and young adults have been raised up in this church to follow God's Word and His work,and now many children and younger teens are being admonished to be obedient to the Lord. During the service, the front row was full of younger boys eager to hear preaching from the Bible. Pastor Brown is a great encouragement to the children of his church. Prayerfully, a next generation will be raised up from this church to serve the Lord.

We have now ended our travels in the Central United States this summer. Each of us are grateful for the opportunity that God has given us to minister in these churches over the past thirteen weeks. Our Heavenly Father has been so good to us, and we rejoice that He has allowed us to do this good work. This has truly been "The Greatest Summer of Our Lives."

Silvery Lane Baptist Church

Pastor and Mrs. Staub were very enthusiastic as they celebrated their twenty-eighth year at Silvery Lane Baptist Church. The people were very friendly, and we met two young ladies who just finished their summer traveling for Grace Bible Baptist in Gaylord, Michigan.

We had many opportunities to minister as we sang, testified, and taught in children's church. Krystal and Hannah taught the primary class while Diana and Tiffany taught the juniors. The Ashmore sisters had the joy of seeing their aunt and cousin once again before leaving for home.

Thank you, Pastor and Mrs. Staub, for such a wonderful lunch and the good fellowship to follow; spending time with you was greatly refreshing. Please continue to pray for us as we head home tomorrow.

North Country Baptist Church

It was exciting to hear from Pastor Sullivan that his church is beginning to build their first building. They have been meeting for several years in a rented facility and looking forward to this time. The men will be meeting next week to put up the first trusses and are thankful for how God has blessed!

After enjoying dinner at the pastor's home with his family, we headed off to set up for the evening service.

The members of this church were very encouraging to us as Mr. Swain preached a message on the unprofitable servant and we sang several songs. We met Marion from Colorado, who was visiting her sister, and invited her to join our group since she was already dressed for the part. :)

We enjoyed spending the night in the homes of the Olds family, Mrs. Peggy Kosnik, and Pastor and Mrs. Sullivan. Mrs. Kosnik is the mother of Bro. Scott Schuler who is a member of Temple Baptist Church, and she often visits our services. Thank you to all of you for taking such good care of us!

Evergreen Bible Baptist Church

When we arrived at Evergreen Bible Baptist Church, we were warmly welcomed by the pastor, his family, and some church members. All of us enjoyed the meal provided and the fellowship. We were delighted to meet Mandy Roberts who is coming to Crown this fall. She had lots of questions for us.

The Swains were delighted to see Ben Cupp and Callie Guntzviller, former Crown students who are planning on getting married in August. We enjoyed talking with them and Callie's family. We also enjoyed the delicious raspberries and cherries they brought us from their berry farm!

We were glad to be a blessing to this church and pastor. Thank you, Pastor and Mrs. Kuiper, for all you did for us while we were with you.

Manton Baptist Church

On our way to Manton Baptist Church we passed a sign for Singing Pines Baptist Camp. We wondered if it might belong to this church, and our suspicions were confirmed when we arrived and met Pastor Hemmes. He shared with us how God had blessed with seventy-six acres of property in an area with a beautiful landscape. The church family has been developing this property over the years and now have two large multiuse buildings. They hope to build cabins soon.

Many church members said they were encouraged by our singing, Mr. Swain's preaching, and viewing the "Take the High Road" video. We were encouraged by those we met as well. There were many children in the church (some were the pastor's grandchildren). Four-year-old Andrea wanted each of us to hold her after the service and we were happy to!

This is the home church of Victoria Happle, a former Crown student. Victoria's parents asked us that we keep her in our prayers as she has been challenged with some health problems. Please pray for her as well as for us as we finish our last meetings.

Rogers City Baptist Church

It was encouraging to see Pastor Rogers and his family again; we had such good fellowship with them at the "God's Grace Conference" in early June. We arrived just in time to help the pastor and his family with the nursing home ministry at TenderCare. The meeting was a blessing to our hearts as the pastor told us of one couple who, when touched by the gospel, were completely changed by the grace of God.

Before the service, we met the assistant pastor and his wife, Curt and Kimberly Goldsbourgh, who graduated in 2004 from Crown. It was exciting to hear that in the summer of 2000 he traveled with Pastor Tim Knipp who we were with just a few weeks ago. Mrs. Rogers was busy setting up the auditorium for their Vacation Bible School. It was thrilling to see a church so on fire! The service was a great blessing to all of us as we sang and testified. The Lord touched the hearts of the people through the preaching of God's Word.
After the service, a few of the teenage girls helped take down the display and carry the tubs back to the trailer. After seeing the teens so willingly helpful, it was great to find them having such good fellowship at the youth activity later that night. Hot dogs, watermelon, and s'mores were fully enjoyed as we sat around the fire and talked with many young people and parents. We must thank the Beck family for hosting the youth meeting and keeping us for the night.

Immanuel Baptist Church

The people of Immanuel Baptist Church have a great love and respect for the armed forces of the United States, and this month they have displayed their patriotism throughout the hallways, classrooms, and auditorium. But even greater than their love of our soldiers is the love they have for lost souls. Pastor Hansen and the church members have a great desire to reach the people of their community with the Gospel of Christ.

We were reunited with faces we had met at Camp CoBeAc in June. Many of the counselors and the camp cook have been attending this church while living in the area this summer. The majority of the counselors come to CoBeAc from other godly Bible colleges across the country.

Also, we met again Bro. Brandon Rodgers. He and his wife work diligently on staff to help the pastor in the church. Bro. Rodgers is the older brother of Jordan Rodgers. Jordan is a senior at Crown this fall and has been a student at the Crown Northwest Division for the past two years. We enjoyed our time of fellowship with everyone in this wonderful church.

Thank you to Pastor Hansen for inviting the trio to come again this year and be a part of your services. We truly enjoyed the pot luck fellowship, Sunday school classes, children's church, and afternoon service.

First Baptist Church of Marion

The Swains had been looking forward to being at this friendly church again this year. They had met Pastor Williams several years ago when they attended this church while vacationing here. When the pastor and his youth group came to visit Crown two years ago, they were excited to see him and renew their acquaintance. We enjoyed having Pastor and Mrs. Williams join us for a cookout at "our" cabin on Friday evening.

Saturday night we were encouraged by the church members and many visitors from the area who came for this special service. A lady whose church one of our tour groups visited last year came because she had seen the article Pastor Williams had put in the newspaper! We sang many songs, Diana gave a testimony of God's provision for our small needs as well as for our great ones, and Mr. Swain preached.

Following the service we enjoyed eating and fellowshipping with all who came. We met a young lady who is seeking God's will concerning attending Crown this fall and were able to answer many questions for her. Thank you, Pastor Williams, for your warm welcome. We were encouraged by you and your church family!

While staying at the cabin here on Swain Lane in Marion, we have enjoyed seeing some wildlife. Tiffany even found a "treasure" for decorating her dorm room!

Home Away from Home

On the way to our next stop, the Lord gave us another opportunity to be an encouragement to others as we shared His message in song. While having lunch "on the street," we sang "There Is a Name" and "Touring That City" to those who gatherd around.

The members of this church received us with a warm welcome and a delicious meal. Pastor Mayer greeted us when we arrived and helped us "settle in." We enjoyed visiting with many of the people here before the service, and one young lady told us that Crown College is the place for her. :) She is just ten and is praying about God's will for her future. We also were excited to meet two young ladies here who plan to attend Crown this fall. Praise the Lord! God has blessed this church family with a beautiful facility, and we enjoyed ministering here.

Thank you to the families of the church who kept us for the night and sent us on our way with breakfast, lunch, and their prayers. We will be praying for you as well.

Grace Baptist Church

Today we left Indiana and entered Michigan again where we will complete our meetings for the summer. This was our final drive along Lake Michigan, and we made a brief stop for a last look at the sand dunes and lake.

It was a joy to meet Pastor Michalcewicz's family and his church members who greeted us with a delicious meal before the service. Pastor Michalcewicz began having Bible studies in this community six years ago as an outrach of Calvary Baptist Church of Charlotte, Michigan. (Pastor Booth of CBC is the father of Crown student Andrew Booth and alumnus Anna Ruwersma.) The Lord has blessed this ministry greatly and has made it possible for them to move into a nice building as of last January. They had previously been meeting in a rented school building and are very thankful for their new facility.

Pastor Michalcewicz was encouraged about the good turnout for this evening's service! We had the privilege of being the first college tour group to minister in this church, and everyone made us feel so welcome. After Krystal sang "Here is Love," we found that this is a familiar hymn here. This song has been and continues to be a great blessing wherever we go.

Thank you to Pastor Michalcewicz and family, to the Steeles, and to the Dodges for sharing your homes with us. We truly were blessed by being in this place!

Blessed Hope Baptist Church

We received a warm welcome back into Indiana by the people of Blessed Hope Baptist Church. Many Crown graduates and students have come from this church and their ministry such as Bethany Ross, Mr. and Mrs. Derrek Lowen. Rebekah Swaby graduated from their Christian high school. Bro. Swain brought an encouraging message on the ministry of reconciliation and many responded to the preaching of God's Word.

Beth Inskeep and her Mother were able to come to the service. Beth is a current Crown student and is also the Swains' secretary. We enjoyed spening time with her and her new fiance, Jake. Also while here, we met Rebekah Swaby's sister and six week old neice. Rebekah is traveling in Cambodia as a New Testament Church Pioneer and has not yet met her new neice.

We ask that everyone pray for Pastor Jerry Ross. He was taken to the hospital on Sunday morning due to severe pain. Pastor Ross has been a trememdous influence in the lives of many teenagers and young people across the country and has been a true pastor to his church. The church family has a heavy burden to carry while their pastor is away. Please be in prayer for him, his family, and the church.

Though the pastor was not at the service, we enjoyed our time with the people of Blessed Hope. The assistant Pastor, Brother Ryser, was gracious to us while here. Thank you, Brother Ryser, for all your help and kindess. Thank you also to the ladies of the church who provided a wonderful Mexican meal and prepared for our stay in the mission house.

Gospel Light Baptist Church

This Sunday morning service was on a different schedule than others we have had. Pastor Keiter wanted to give us plenty of time so he combined the Sunday school and the morning service. We had a great meeting. Mr. Swain preached a message on our ministry as Christians. After the service there was a pot luck meal. This church is not lacking in good cooks! The table was spread, and we ate and visited. Hannah was happy to have her friend Amy Britton come to visit her at this chruch.

The church has several ties to Crown College. The pastor's son Ryan serves on staff at Temple Baptist Church, his daughter Cindy just graduated from Crown, and his daughter Emily will be a freshman this fall. Kimberly, the youngest daughter, is a junior this year in high school.

Pastor Keiter asked us to visit and sing for a family still greiving over the recent loss of their son. We sang four songs, and the couple really enjoyed it. It is not often that we have the opportunity to minister to people like that , and we thank the Lord for using us to be an encouragement to them.

We want to give a special thanks to Pastor Keiter and his church for putting us in wonderful hotel rooms filled with treats! Thank you also for the delicious lunch.

As we traveled from Michigan to Ohio once again, we made a quick stop at Bronners' Christmas Wonderland. This is the largest Christmas store in the world, and every customer receives a gospel tract with his purchase. We enjoyed touring the store, purchasing some unusual ornaments, and singing for some of the employees and customers. It was also interesting to see the Silent Night Chapel, a replica of the original chapel in Austria where "Silent Night" was first sung on Christmas Eve of 1818. We are thankful for the opportunities such as this that God has provided for us to proclaim the name of our Savior wherever we go. May He receive the glory!

Cathro Community Baptist Church

We have spent the last few days back "Up North" in Michigan. This is a popular ski resort area and is also known for elk viewing. We were able to view this elk from up close!

This was the third year for the Swains to visit this church with a Crown tour group. They were happy to see Pastor Maier and his family once again, and we were pleased to be reunited with Carolyn, a young lady we had met at Camp CoBeAc early in June. (She is pictured here holding her nephew.) God has blessed this church in the past year by providing them with some property and buildings which they desire to use for His glory. They just completed their VBS which was held in one of these buildings.

After a delicious dinner prepared by the pastor's wife and ladies of the church, we sang, showed the DVD, and Mr. Swain preached. The members of this church were so encouraging as they responded to the messages of our songs as well as to the preaching!

The Swains enjoyed spending the night in Pastor and Mrs. Maier's home. Pastor and his son have a taxidermy business, and the Swains were able to witness some early morning endeavors going on there before we left.

Wolverine Baptist Church

"That sign looks familiar," someone said as we passed the sign the third time for the Sleeping Bear Dunes. Have you ever been to a tourist attraction where they hid the attraction? It took time, but we finally found the Sleeping Bear Dunes, and what a sight - 450 feet of sand straight up from the banks of Lake Michigan!

Later that afternoon, the Swains introduced us to two of their good friends, Pastor and Mrs. Theaker; they have been at Wolverine Baptist for twenty-eight years! It was greatly encouraging to see so many children attend the King's Kids that night. The little ones were so thrilled to hear us sing. Mr. Swain preached a convicting message about our "ministry of reconciliation" and how we ought to be "not ashamed of the gospel of Christ."

After the service, we all went to the pastor's home to celebrate Tiffany's birthday - again! The Ashmores' mom sent a box of goodies and a note about buying Tiffany a birthday cake. Once again our hopes of watching the food we eat vanished with the sight of chocolate. That night, Tiffany and Krystal stayed with a good friend, a "snow bird" who spends her winters in Bradenton, Florida. Mrs. Everett was thrilled to see the two girls so grown up from the times she remembered them at Trinity Baptist, their church home in Florida. We would also like to thank the pastor for taking in the rest of the group.

Olive Branch Baptist Church

Pastor Dan Kemp

The pastor of Olive Branch Baptist Church gave us a hearty welcome for the Sunday evening service. Pastor Kemp is a man who is very excited about the work of the Lord and his enthusiasm is highly contagious to anyone who meets him. We enjoyed getting acquainted with him and his wife and their daughter and son-in-law, Jamie and Phaith Muma. It was a blessing to be a part of their ministry on Sunday and on Monday evening during their vacation Bible school.

Also on Sunday, special visitors came to Olive Branch. The parents of Rebekah Swaby came to the service. They live about twenty miles from the church and are members of a good church in their area. Rebekah is a New Testament Church Pioneer this summer working in Cambodia with the Ruppel family, the daughter and son-in-law of the Swains. It was a joy to talk with her parents and fellowship with them.

Monday morning we went with the pastor and many teens to invite kids to come to the vacation Bible school which started that evening. After going through the neighborhood, we went to the church to finish preparations for the VBS. The theme was "Following the Steps of Jesus." Many decorations and displays were arranged and organized in the auditorium and classrooms to create an atmosphere of traveling through Bible time Israel. The classrooms were filled with children that evening and we all helped with the age groups and activities. It was a great time of working with children and teaching them about Jesus and His ministry on earth.

Thank you to Pastor Kemp for allowing us to come and be a part of your church service and to help with the vacation Bible school. Thank you also to the Kemp and Todd families for housing the Swains and the ladies. You have all been a blessing to each of us.

Calvary Baptist Church

Our time at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Evans began with dinner at the church with his family Friday evening. We enjoyed this time of fellowship with them. Saturday we went visiting door-to-door in the neighborhood surrounding the church and had the opportunity to share the gospel. Before going out, Pastor Evans took us for breakfast at "Grandma's Kitchen." After singing before our meal, we were pleased to meet Samatha Lusk's (a Crown student)grandfather. He treated us to our breakfast and came to hear us sing on Sunday. Thank you, Mr. Lusk!

Later that afternoon we joined with the church family in a picnic at the park. Tiffany won the fishing contest for the girls by catching the most fish (6). We enjoyed delicious food and all went for a "train ride." Thank you to the Fredericks family who did much of the preparation for the picnic.

Sunday morning Mr. Swain taught the adult Sunday school and preached in the morning service. We sang in both Sunday school and church and taught a lesson in the junior church. This church family was such a great encouragement to us as we ministered here. (Pastor's two sons and one daughter are missing from the family picture because they were helping on the church bus!)

Thank you to the Harley family for allowing us to stay in your comfortable guest house and to all those who provided meals and treats for us. You spoiled us and we loved it!

Cleveland Baptist Church

This was a busy week for Cleveland Baptist Church! Pastor Folger and Assistant Pastor Pete Folger were gone with approximately one hundred youth and other church members on a mission trip (S.M.I.T.E.) to Baltimore. Brother Steve Triplett (school principal and Crown alumnus) greeted us and led this evening's service. His wife Brooke is also a Crown graduate, and we enjoyed meeting them and their children.

Mr. and Mrs. Swain were grateful to meet and visit with Dr. Roy Thompson, who founded this church in 1958 and was the pastor here until 1996. How God has blessed this preacher and his ministry for so many years. Please pray for him as he continues to battle leukemia.

We were also pleased to meet the Ortiz family, who were home on furlough from Tibet. Bro. Ortiz preached and reported on his ministry.

Thank you to the Lapp family for allowing us to stay in your guest house. (We had to take a bit of a detour!)May the Lord bless all of you at Cleveland Baptist Church as you continue to faithfully serve Him!

Madison Missionary Baptist Church

Our two days with Pastor Gullion were a great blessing as we participated in the tent revival meetings being held on the newly purchased property next to the church. The folks of this church, as well as other churches in the area, had been praying for this property for a long time and were thankful for answered prayer. They were thrilled to see how God was using what He had given them. While we were there, three came to know the Lord as their Savior. Tiffany had the privilege of leading thirteen year old Jessie to the Lord Tuesday, and she came back for the Wednesday meeting, Praise the Lord! Please pray that she will begin to attend the services here and to grow in the Lord.

The preacher for these meetings was Evangelist David Frazie of Minford, Ohio. God used him to encourage and challenge us as well as all those who attended the meetings. One thing Bro. Frazie emphasized was the need for Christians to keep growing, and he recommended Pastor Sexton's books as a good tool to use along with the Bible.

Monday afternoon we had the opportunity to go door to door visiting with Pastor Gullion and enjoyed singing at a senior citizens' apartment complex, a yard sale, and a hardware store. Unfortunately Hannah stepped in a hole and sprained her ankle so she has to play the piano with only one leg now. :)

We were very well fed by Mrs. Gullion and the ladies of the church. Thank you for all the delicious meals, treats, and warm reception. Thank you also to Pastor Ryan Brown who helped arrange for us to be here. This was definitely a God -given opportunity, and we thank Him for it!

Calvary Baptist Church

Calvary Baptist Church was a tremendous blessing to us! After hearing so much about the ministry here from Pastor Brown's parents, with whom we had been staying for a few days, we were excited for this Sunday night meeting to come. Hearing the church choir was a joy - the members sang with all their hearts to the Lord! We were privileged to be part of such an enthusiastic congregation.

While here we saw Melanie Turull, a Crown alumnus, playing the organ, serving as a Sunday school teacher, and working with the teens in the church. We also met Darell, a young man serving in the church this summer, who plans to come to Crown in the fall of 2010 after he graduates from the university here in Portsmouth.

After the service, the youth group invited us to play putt-putt golf. Krystal was thrilled the entire evening to have Michael, her fiance, with her. He drove from his family reunion to be reunited with his sweetheart - awww!

Since we spent a few days in this area, we were also able to minister in a nursing home where Pastor Brown holds a service. What a blessing to see how the residents there love him!

Before leaving Portsmouth, Pastor took us to see the Portsmouth Floodwall Murals along the Ohio River. We also learned that this city is the birth place of Roy Rogers, the singing cowboy of the 1940s and 50s.

A special thank you to Tony and Martena Lauro who kept the Swains in their beautiful home in the city and to Dave and Jenny Brown who kept us girls on their farm. We had a wonderful time with all of you and are grateful for all you did for us!

South Webster Baptist Church

This morning's service was with Pastor Justin Grinstead and his wife April, both Crown graduates. April shared with us her memories of traveling with Dr. and Mrs. Kiser and a mixed ensemble when she was a student. The Grinsteads and their two sons are enjoying their ministry in South Webster, and we enjoyed being part of their patriotic service today.

It was encouraging to the Swains, who were at this church last year, to see some of the "senior saints" continuing faithfully in bringing children and teens to the services in the church vans. Please pray for this church family as they prepare for their annual VBS later this month.

Celebrating the Fourth of July 2009

We appreciate Pastor Ryan Brown's including us in celebrating the Fourth of July with his family and church members. We enjoyed our time at Pastor Brown's parents' farm, where Calvary Baptist had held its first church camp just a week ago. Their large tent was still set up, and we enjoyed feasting, fellowshiping, and playing games there. We also were able to do a little horseback riding! Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Brown, for your kindness.

The Swains were thrilled to receive a visit from their daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter (Joanna, Julian, & Alyssa Canales) from Tennessee. The Swains have been missing their grandchildren this summer and appreciate VERY MUCH their son-in-law making this trip on his day off! :)

Tonight we had the wonderful pleasure of meeting Pastor Tim Knipp and his family. He and his wife Mindy, who graduated from Crown College in 2002, are missionaries supported by Temple Baptist Church. It was encouraging to spend time with the Knipp family and their church members. The service was filled with singing God's praises from the congregation and the trio, of testifying, and of preaching God's Word.

Berean Baptist Church warmly welcomed us with a delicious meal, but the meal wasn't just for us - it was for their new pastor! The parsonage was not quite ready for Pastor Waggoner and his family, so the church members cooked dinner for them everyday since their arrival on Thursday.

The service was a great blessing. It was thrilling to see a congregation who cared so much for their new pastor that they went out of their way to make him feel welcome. Mrs. Swain rejoiced in seeing Ruth Thomas who so graciously hosted the Swains at her home the year before. The meeting was filled with new comers this evening: the new pastor; our group; and the Woodring family, missionaries to Vietnam. Kayla Woodring was happy to be in the states to spend time with her grandparents and to be in church to meet us! Leaving greatly encouraged, we thank God for the meetings He appointed us to be in.

On our way to the church of another one of our Crown alumni pastors, we were able to make a stop at one of Michigan's beautiful state parks and explore the shoreline of Lake Michigan. Mr. Swain attempted to teach us all how to be "dune jumpers"!

We arrived at the church in time to enjoy dinner with Pastor Butler and his family before the evening service. Pastor, his wife, and their two sons have been serving together at this church for the past seven years. It is exciting to see the church growing and in the midst of a building program.

After we sang, Mr. Swain preached a message from Judges 2 on the importance of passing on our Christian heritage to the next generation. It reminded us of the great responsibility and privilege we have to do this during these present days. We were blessed to be able to minister in this church and thank Pastor Butler for changing his service to Tuesday night to accommodate

our schedule.

As we look back to the weeks we have been "on the road," we are grateful to God for His protection and the fruit we have seen. To this point Mr. Swain has driven over 11,ooo miles! We can truly say, "To God be the glory; great things He hath done." Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we finish our journey during this month of July.

Little Black Lake Baptist Church

A winter wonderland welcomed us to Muskegon. The Little Black Lake Baptist Church had just finished a week of vacation Bible school, and the theme had been "Polar Explosion." Elaborate decorations still filled the main auditorium. During their VBS, many children had trusted Christ as their Saviour, and on Sunday night the church family was giving praises and testimonies of God's goodness.

While here, we had the privilege of meeting Pastor Garth Hutchison. He and his wife were students at
Crown College during its beginning years. They shared stories of the first buildings and classes when the entire student body numbered seventy-five. We all enjoyed a great time of fellowship with the pastor and his family after the service. They took us to Pier Marquette on Lake Michigan where we all ate dinner on the beach and watched the sunset.

Thank you, Pastor Hutchison, for the great time with you, your family, and the church people. We enjoyed our time with you all and also enjoyed hearing of the good work being done for God. Thank you also to Miss Darla Harper for a comfortable stay in your beautiful home.

How we enjoyed spending a few days with the Butler families, back in Michigan once again. Pastor Butler's mother and dad, who live on a large dairy farm, graciously opened their lovely home to us and made us feel just like family.

Saturday mornig the men of the church were invited to the Butlers' farm for breakfast and shooting skeet. We all enjoyed the delicious food, and Tiffany & Mr. Swain also joined in the shooting.

Later that day we accompanied Pastor Butler and Brooke Weeks, another Crown student, in visiting their bus riders. God blessed, and the church had a record number of riders on Sunday. Please join us in praying for Porcha, a teen rider who Brooke was able to lead to the Lord during Sunday School. What a blessing!

Saturday evening we had the privilege of visiting Mrs. Joyce Horn and singing for her in her home. She is the wife of the pastor who the Swains consider to be their spiritual father and who God used to give them wise direction when they first trusted the Lord as their Savior. Mrs. Horn was a piano teacher at a Bible college for forty-five years, and Hannah was thrilled to find a copy of "Prelude in G Minor" by Rachmaninoff on her piano - she did a beautiful job sight reading as she tried it out!

God's hand was upon the service Sunday, and Pastor Butler was excited to have so many attending, some of whom were first time visitors, as well as having many new bus riders.

Following the service, we celebrated Krystal's 21st birthday. She enjoyed her favorite cake - chocolate with chocolate icing- after we ate dinner at the church.

"For a great door and effectual is opened unto me..." - but, in our case, it was a window! As we climbed out of the van in the Walmart parking lot, a lady, seeing our trailer, pulled up next to us. She asked how our travels fared and allowed us to sing to her. Once again, God had an appointment for us to testify of His great grace!

Winding country roads brought us to Knob's Hill Baptist Church. We were greatly encouraged to find familiar friends once again: Hannah knew Pastor Miller's family and we knew Adam Hubbart, the assistant pastor, a Crown gradutate. It was exciting to see a few teens in the service who were picked up by the church's van route. God worked in a mighty way during the service.

That night, we had a restful stay with Art and Shirly Murphy. Mrs. Murphy is a wonderful artist on canvas and quilt. We enjoyed asking her about the quilts and found quilt making to be the "mother of patience." One quilt took her almost twenty years to finish because she researched different butterflies and hand embroidered each one with no two alike!

Following the service, we enjoyed fellowshiping with the church family and meeting some of Tiffany and Courtney Hemphill's friends.

The beautiful wilderness of Illinois greeted us Monday mid-morning along with all of its heat. We left with the teens from the church to go to the campgrounds, and we enjoyed the fun of the trip on our way there. Many activities, games, and events were scheduled for camp -- we joined right in!

Dr. Mike Ray from Nappa, California was the speaker for camp. He brought many challenging and gripping messages that evoked the theme "Stand Fast in the Lord." On Tuesday night, two teens trusted Christ as their personal Saviour. The teens' hearts, as well as ours, were encouraged and convicted through the preaching of God's Word. It was exciting to see the Lord work in many hearts and lives of the teenagers.

Thank you Bro. Samples for inviting us to camp. We enjoyed the fun, activities, and the "roughing it." We were each admonished to "Stand Fast in the Lord."

This evening we were pleased to be in Bay View Baptist Church, the home of several Crown alumni including Jessica Thibo, whose father is the pastor. We were greeted by Assistant Pastor Aaron Samples. He and his wife are also alumni, and Brother Samples will be directing the camp we are heading to for the next few days. In the lobby are displayed many pictures of those who have been part of this church and are now serving in the ministry themselves (among them several Crown alumni). What an encouragement!

As we sang, testified, and Mr. Swain preached, the response of the church was a great blessing to us. Once again Krystal's song from the Welsh Revival stirred many hearts. Many responded to the invitation to be more bold in their witness for Christ (Ephesians 6:19).

Please pray for Kelly Childers who grew up at Bay View Baptist Church. Kelly and her husband Paul are Crown graduates and missionaries to Italy. She and her children are home from the field awaiting new visas so they can return to Italy. This could be a long process, and they need the prayers of God's people for this process to go well and quickly.

Our day started with giving Mr. Swain our Father's Day gift and singing in the hotel lobby. Then we started out for Calvary Baptist Church where Pastor Layne Lashley, a Crown graduate, has been serving since last August. It was good to see him and his family again! When we arrived, we also found Bethany Frederick, a fellow student, and many of her family members (including Janie Ross who sang in a Crown ladies' trio with her sister Melody Yates). Pastor Lashley preached a challenging message for Father's Day on families serving the Lord together.

We also enjoyed meeting the Leclercq family, missionaries on deputation to reach the people of Guam. It was interesting to hear God's plan for their lives as we enjoyed dinner at the church together.

We were on our way to the next church in the Sault (pronounced soo) of Ontario when we saw many moose crossing signs. Those signs put us on a wild hunt to find a massive moose. We were headed down a gravel road when our GPS, Naggy Maggie, lost her way. She began to yell at Mr. Swain crying, "recalculating, recalculating!" Mrs. Swain wisely decided to ask Mr. Swain to turn around before Naggy Maggie had a conniption. We turned around and after Naggy Maggie found our location, we eventually returned to the right road that led to the church. Unfortunately we did not find any moose.

We arrived at Maranatha Baptist Church in time for a delicious pot luck dinner. The table was spread with all sorts of entrees and desserts. After the meal we went upstairs for the service. Mr. Swain preached on running the race that is set before us. We enjoyed being with them for the church's 29th anniversary.

Northstar Baptist Church

Our journey "Up North" brought us to the "eighth wonder of the world" - an entire waterfall of root beer! Taquamenon Falls is actually brown because of the surrounding cedar swamps. Mr. Swain said, "It always amazes me how beautiful God's creation is and that He also gave us the capacity to appreciate it." Though the falls were beautiful, we were chased by the not so beautiful mosquitoes - Ouch!

Whitefish Point, our next destination, brought us to the shore of the largest of the Great Lakes, Lake Superior. Instead of shell covered beaches, we found many rocks with a variety of colors and shapes. The sand was warm, but don't step in the water, or you'll get hypothermia!

After a long day of exploration, we prepared ourselves for the meeting at Northstar Baptist Church. It was encouraging to see many familiar faces who we met at the "God's Grace Conference." God used our singing, testimonies, and Mr. Swain's preaching to stir hearts. One man was so touched by Diana's testimony about God supplying laundry money that he gave her a roll of quarters!

What made the meeting even greater was staying with such a loving family that night. The Grumleys were wonderful hostesses. From Kimberley's and Sarah's venison to homemade hot fudge brownies, we were well taken care of. Thank you for having us again this year.

We crossed the Mackinaw Bridge into Michigan's Upper Penninsula late on Monday afternoon and awoke to a beautiful sunrise over Lake Huron early Tuesday morning.

Community Baptist Church was hosting its second annual God's Grace Conference and had invited us to come for a second time to provide special music. Evangelist John Hamblin and Pastor Dean Miller were this year's preachers, and Mrs. Miller spoke to the ladies. Pastor Whitte was so encouraged to have many visiting pastors and their wives attending along with several of his church members. We sang for the services Tuesday and Wednesday mornings and evenings, listened to and shared "praise reports," were stirred by challenging preaching, and enjoyed wonderful food and fellowship with everyone there. We are so thankful for the opportunity God gave us to be in this conference. We were sad to leave but so grateful for God's working in our hearts while we were there!

While at the God's Grace Conference, Pastor Witte gave us the opportunity to share a blessing in the community. After lunch we went to two assisted living and care centers. The trio sang uplifting songs of salvation, heaven, and Jesus. Many faces lit up at the sound of harmony and the piano. Pastor Witte gave a brief challenge on making sure of your "second birthday."

At each facility we met many people who faithfully attended the services each week. Many are professing Christians. Though we were seeking to be a blessing, we received a blessing by many brothers and sisters in Christ who were so cheerful and encouraging. Our prayer is that we will each show true happiness in Christ in whatever situation we may face. All of God's children have the promise that He will never leave them or forsake them (Heb. 13:5).

We arrived in Terre Haute Saturday evening and stayed at a hotel povided by the good people of Good Shepherd Baptist Church. After being greeted with fruit and snack baskets in our rooms,we sat in the lobby and did some catching up on our blog. Some of the housekeepers enjoyed hearing us sing, and Mrs. Swain had the opportunity to share some scriptures with one of them.

Sunday we enjoyed singing in both the Sunday school and morning services. It was exciting to find some 2006 Crown alumni here including Asst. Pastor Ron Hodge and his wife Ruth (Chapman) Hodge. Bro. Ron's two sisters also graduated from Crown.

We were encouraged to hear testimonies of some members who had been soulwinning during the week and to meet some first time visitors who came as a result of their efforts. It was also a blessing to see a some baptized who had recently accepted Christ as their Savior.

Thank you, Pastor Manbeck and church family, for your warm welcome, the nice rooms and the treats, and for the dinner and fellowship after the service. We enjoyed the visit!

The winding hills of southern Ohio welcomed us to Beallsville. On Thursday evening, we were treated to a delicious home-style dinner at the Historic Beallsville Diner. We will not forget this special treat.

East Sunsbury Baptist Church is the home church of Katie Cox. The entire Cox family were so kind and gracious to us while we were here. Diana especially enjoyed the stay here because her family is life-long friends of the Coxes. We all enjoyed plenty of fellowship with them too.

Pastor Cox had scheduled a special meeting for Friday evening where the trio sang many songs and testified of God's goodness and grace. Bro. Swain gave a challenging devotion from Philippians 3 and 4 on contentment and satisfaction. We enjoyed the sweet spirit of the people and all the kindness shown to us. Thank you, Pastor Cox, for scheduling this special service, and thank you to the Pittmans for opening your home to us.

Travel Day

Today we began our journey from Akron to Beallsville, Ohio where the pastor is the father of our friend Katie Cox, a fellow "Crownie." Pastor Cox kindly arranged for us to stay with his church families tonight and tomorrow night. On the way we had time to stop in America's largest Amish settlement for some sightseeing. We enjoyed stopping at Hersbergers' Farm where we enjoyed a ride in an Amish buggy and sang for our driver. We aslo had time to stop in one of the many cheese factories in Sugar Creek, the "Little Switzerland of Ohio," to sample locally made cheese -yummy!

As we continued on our way, our friendly GPS, which we have affectionately named Naggy Maggie, took us on a "scenic route" (dusty gravel road) toward our destination!

We sadly left Camp CoBeAc bright and early Wednesday morning. We soon left the state of Michigan behind too as we headed to our next meeting.

Arriving at Community Baptist Temple earlier than was expected gave us a little bit of practice time. The people were very friendly and were "on fire" for the Lord. Many teenagers who had visited the college this spring asked for more information about the school. Unexpected to us, the church gave us all goody bags filled with sweet surprises. We were greatly encouraged and blessed by this ministry and the pastor's family.

Early Thursday morning, the youth pastor and his family took us out for a very delicious breakfast. Yum!

Thanks to the church for their warm welcome and their kindness, to the Fertig family for housing the Swains overnight, and to Mrs. Shirley and Bro. Rick for taking us and feeding us too!

"We're Going to Camp"

We started this week with crossing the border from Canada back into America. The customs official surprisingly asked us to sing before he allowed us to cross. We would have loved to take a picture, but that wasn't allowed!

After quite a drive, we were coldly greeted by the "Up North" weather. We soon arrived at Camp CoBeAc where we joined Bro. Scott Pauley. He was preaching to teens from many churches in Ohio and Michigan this week. We have enjoyed singing during the chapel services, participating in many of the activities, and getting acquainted with many of the campers.

Our first night we played "scatter-ball," a confusing form of dodge ball- people were tripping all over the place! The following afternoon, we discovered another one of Hannah's amazing gifts, the art of ping-pong. Later that night, Tiffany jumped right in the fun when she went "bobbing for gold fish" in a pool of chocolate cereal - yum! The "Army Ants" were thrilled that the college girls were on their team.

The Lord had His hand on the music, preaching, and hearts of the teenagers. Tuesday night we saw many trust Christ as their Savior, rededicate their lives, and surrender to God's will for their lives. Some even came forward with an earnest desire to have the right attitude toward their authorities! The Lord was present, and the work of God was evident in each meeting; we continue to expect great things from God.

Pastor Bohman was away this evening, but we received a warm welcome from Mrs. Bohman and the church family when we arrived. We learned that this church had been home to a Bible college in the 1970s and that some of the pastors we had met in Canada had attended this school in Simcoe.

We were happy that the Lord gave Tiffany back her voice so she could sing with us tonight. She had been sitting out the last two meetings due to illness, and Hannah had been singing her part while playing the piano. Praise the Lord for the strength He gives during our times of need! After we sang, Bro. Swain preached a stirring message on soulwinning, and many people responded to the invitation.

Following the service the assistant pastor, his family, and some of the church members took us out to eat. We enjoyed the fellowship, and just before leaving we sang "Touring That City" for the employees and customers.

How exciting to see the members of this church joining together to set up for their Sunday morning service! For many years this church has been meeting in a rented area in a community center. This has become a large work in the Toronto area reaching people of many different nationalities. The folks of this church are looking forward to someday constructing a building on the property they have purchased. What a blessing to see this multicultural church "striving together for the faith of the gospel."

We are grateful for the lovely accommodations you provided for us and for the delicious meals we enjoyed. We especially enjoyed having Sunday dinner in the Thiessens' home with the family including Grandpa and Grandma Thiessen. Pastor, you are fortunate to have a mother and a wife who are both great cooks!

We drove into Barrie trying to count all the students we might know who come to Crown from Heritage Baptist Church. Dr. Pennell is also a pastor we are quite familiar with because he often comes to preach in chapel and meetings at the Temple Baptist Church. He and his son Brett welcomed us warmly.

Once again we met someone from the Swains' past years of ministry. Little Chase Pennell(pictured here celebrating the last day of school) is the son of Melissa (Black) Pennell, one of the Swains' former students from Michigan.

Since the youth meeting was not until Friday evening, we had the opportunity of passing out tracts in the park near Simcoe Lake that afternoon. We were able to witness to several people we met there including a young lady from Scotland and an older lady from Holland.

The youth meeting Friday night was encouraging, exciting, and fun. After we sang and Brother Swain preached, pastor Brett challenged us with a paper and straw game. Then following refreshments we played Canadian street hockey for our initiation as "real" Canadians. Leslie Bickell also presented Mr. Swain with a jar of "liquid gold" (real maple syrup).

On our way out of Barrie we stopped at the church's garage sale fundraiser and had another opportunity to sing.

Travel,Trials,Triumph, & Treats

Today we began with an unexpected trip back to the U.S. Tiffany has been struggling with throat problems so we took her back to see a doctor. She now has some medicine and is looking forward to having her voice back soon! We enjoyed lunch at KFC in New York and then stopped for a quick look at the American side of Niagara Falls. While admiring the falls, we met up with a traveling team from Appalachian Bible College and enjoyed visiting with them!

Then came further trials followed by further triumphs! After returning to Canada, we had to make another brief trip back to the U.S. to retrieve some items left behind. As we were returning to Canada, we received a call from the hotel we had left this morning to inform us that a lost cell phone had been found. We finally began our journey to Barrie, thanking the Lord for His goodness to us and the grace He supplied our driver! We also enjoyed some "comfort food" (ice cream) along the way.

The sweet church family of Beacon Baptist Church welcomed us to the beautiful city of Welland, Ontario. We enjoyed the kindness and gracious spirit shown to us while here. After only being in existence for four years, they already have had the need to purchase a larger facility. In September, church services will be held in the new building.

After the service, Pastor Harris invited us to his home for pizza and fellowship. We enjoyed getting better acquainted with the pastor, his wife, and four children. Diana was even able to introduce an American cuisine -- pizza and ranch dressing!! What a wonderful time we shared together!

"Canada, Oh, Canada"

Due to the generosity of God's people, we have had the opportunity to see some of Canada's popular attractions. Today we were taken on a tour of Toronto by our new friends Mr. and Mrs. Gan. We enjoyed visiting one of Canada's oldest Baptist churches, the CN building, did a little shopping in China Town, and took lots of pictures. At the end of our tour, we met Jim and Ruth Bianchi, missionaries to Toronto, who treated us to a fish and chips lunch. Thank you, Brother and Mrs. Gan and Brother and Mrs. Bianchi for taking such good care of us!

Niagara Falls

What a great blessing to see some of God's beautiful creation in this part of the world! We look LOTS of pictures, rode the Maid of the Mist, took a walk behind the falls, and once again visited the gift shops. Tuesday evening we all "dressed up" for dinner and were given the opportunity to sing in the hotel lobby. It was exciting for us to be able to share the gospel and praise the Lord in song while many hotel employees and guests from around the world stopped to listen!

It seems that everywhere we go, someone knows Mr. and Mrs. Swain. The fruit of their ministry expands even into Canada to Pastor Rick Dressler and his family. They were very kind in hosting a picnic for us with hamburgers, hot dogs, cheesy potatoes, and brownies! We had great fellowship and plenty of fun outside.

The service the next morning was a blessing and an encouragement. The people were very happy to have us, and many came with smiles to greet us. Krystal gave here testimony of how the Lord gave her courage to stand in front of people because she was so shy - can you believe that?

The youth pastor, Dan Christiaans, took us out to Pizza Hut after the evening service with his family and Jenny, a summer intern. Again the Lord blessed us with wonderful fellowship, especially with his little daughter Avry.

Please pray that we will be an encouragement as we continue on our way this summer.

After being treated to lunch prepared by Mr. Gan, a native of Maylasia and member of one of the churches in Ontario, we continued on to the city of Hamilton. Thank you, Bro. Gan, for your hospitality and generosity!

We arrived at the home of Pastor and Mrs. Friesen, where we enjoyed a delicious home cooked dinner and a time to get acquainted with them before heading off for the service. It was such a blessing to meet several of the Friesens' children and grandchildren who are serving in their ministry. We were also encouraged to meet many families who are excited about reaching others and following the leading of their pastor. Brother Swain preached a message from Philippians 3 challenging us to "apprehend" what God has for us to do.

After enjoying a time of fellowship with the church family, we spent the night in the homes of Pastor and Mrs. Friesen, Ben and Becky (their daughter and son-in-law), and the McSwiggen family. Thank you all for making us feel so welcome in your church and homes!

Time stood still, it seemed, in the small town of St. Jacobs, Ontario, Canada. This town is home to a large Amish/Mennonite community. We went to a massive farmers' market this morning and everywhere we looked there were horse-drawn buggies. The farmers' market was packed with tourists enjoying the sites and food and locals buying their groceries for the week. We walked around and "window shopped" at the different stands. For lunch we enjoyed Doner Kabobs. A kabob is an English entree and is usually beef or lamb.

After the famers' market we drove to Faith Baptist Church in Hamilton. Pastor Feere took us to Swiss Chalet for dinner before the service. The
pastor had invited many churches from the area to come. Mr. Swain
preached on running the race and a
lady received Christ as her Savior. Following the service, Mrs. Swain was shown the piano skills of the pastor's daughters and one of their friends. We had a wonderful time fellowshipping with all the people.

Wednesday's travels brought us to the Canadian Mennonite country. Many shops lined downtown St. Jacobs, Ontario. Here we found a variety of jams, syrups, and preserves along with exhibits of quilts and some unusual quilted articles.

Yes, even the cars get chilly in Canada!

That evening Pastor Sawatsky met us at the Northside Baptist Church where we were treated to a delicious Chinese dinner. The trio brought many Christ honoring songs in the evening Bible study hour, and Bro. Swain gave an uplifting message from Philippians.

Our first service in Canada went very well. The people in the church were so friendly to us as we represented the college ministry. They were excited about having a group from Crown here for the first time. We sang several songs, and Krystal gave her testimony before she sang "Here Is Love." After the message, the pastor had her come back and sing this song a second time.

We were invited back Wednesday morning for the Christian school chapel service. Mr. Swain shared his "Tree House" story with the children as he challenged them to be obedient. As a special treat, the children sang one of their favorite songs for us!

Traveling Notes

After leaving Adrian on Memorial Day morning, we stopped at Cabela's Outfitters in Dundee, Michigan for lunch and picture taking. We enjoyed a wild game meal of bison, elk, and ostrich sandwiches - something new for all of us! Then we continued on for another night at Grandpa Roenicke's (Mr. Swain's dad). We are thankful for his "bed and breakfast" and laundry facilities. Mrs. Swain made lasagna for us, and Grandpa supplied us with lots of breakfast goodies. It's time for us to begin a serious diet!

Tuesday we crossed the border into Canada, where we were asked to report to Immigration because of our trailer full of books and CD's. After answering a few questions, we were "released" to continue our trip.

We enjoyed a great time with the pastor, church, teens, and singles of Berean Baptist Church. There we met the families of Joe Salazar, Ben Pearson, and Brook Cole - students of Crown College.

Before the service, we had the privilege of being in a meeting with the teens where we sang and were challenged from God's Word. They had just completed their spring canmpaign; some of the young people were rewarded for their efforts.Mr. Swain brought a challenging message on Paul's prayer to fellow believers from Philippians during the main service; the trio sang several uplifting songs, and Hannah played for the congregational hymns and the offering. After the service the church provided fellowship and pizza for us and the single adults. This was a wonderful time of good Christian fun.

Thank you to Pastor Rogers for allowing us to come and to the Pearson families for the comfortable stay. You have been a true blessing and encouragement to us.

The sky was dark and rainy as we packed up the trailer for our next stop. All of us thought dreadfully of a cookout on such a dreary day, but as we got further down the road, the sun broke forth into a warm summer-like day-God provided once again! The Kresses and their five cats were gracious hosts for the teen cookout and for all four of us girls that night. It was an exciting event, our first cookout, with food, games and new found friends.

Maranatha Baptist Church welcomed us warmly to their beautiful Memorial Day service. There we found some old friends, Tina and Tim Waddell, Matt Olds, and their families who made us feel right at home. Krystal and Tiffany were surprised to find their Aunt Vicky, Uncle Steve, and his mother walk in a few minutes before the service began. Once again, God blessed them with family time.

The Old Country Buffet never looked so full as when the pastor invited all to join us for dinner. We have never been so full either! Thank you, Pastor Bostwick, for all your kindness and hospitality.

Lighthouses and Lake Huron

Today after a delicious breakfast of homemade waffles prepared by Mrs. Caincross, the Swains took us to see a few of their favorite tourist spots in northern Michigan. We visited three lighthouses (climbed the towers of two) where we had opportunities to sing to several employees and visitors. The Lord gave us a beautiful day to be outside on the shores of Lake Huron and we had lots of much needed exercise!

What a veiw! We traveled through Chicago at rush hour this morning. The veiw was mostly traffic, but it also consisted of the magnificant skyline of the city. This evening we participated in a special service at Greenbush Community Baptist Church. with Pastor A.C. Caincross. There was a "Pizza Party" for us and the teenagers after church. We greatly enjoyed this time of fellowship.

The Lord gave us many blessings in Union Grove. In the morning we sang in the high school chapel and Mr. Swain admonished the students from Proverbs 4 to keep their hearts right during the summer. Our afternoon was free to do our laundry and shopping. While at the laundry we had the opportunity to sing to two ladies. Mrs. Swain was then able to give the gospel to one of these ladies, and she gladly received Christ as her Saviour. What a wonderful blessing!

That evening we sang and testified, and the Bible message was brought by Mr. Swain. We enjoyed the sweet fellowship of the pastor, his family, and the church. Pastor Schlagel and Mr. Swain attended seminary together during the mid-1970's; many stories and laughter were shared. We also met family of Sonda (Stine) Boyle who are members of Union Grove Baptist Church. It was a joy to meet family of a Crown alumnus.

Many families opened their homes to us and were a tremendous blessing. Thank you to Jamie and Rachel Thompson, Lorraine Lincoln, and Miss Myrtle for all your care and hospitality.

We had an exciting and fun filled day in Fridley, Minnesota. We began our day at Woodcrest Christian School. One young man there was a very interested in the college and had some great questions for us. Several other students had visited Crown earlier this year and were already familiar with our school. Thank you, Pastor Mark Poorman, for allowing us to share our ministry with your young people.

Following the meeting, we headed for the Mall of America and an afternoon of "adventure." We sang in two stores and in front of a miniature golf course giving us many opportunities to talk about Christ and our college. Mr. and Mrs. Swain enjoyed a little shopping for their grandchildren at the American Girl and Legos stores. It was a great time of "window shopping," singing, and taking

pictures.

Sunday evening we were part of the service at Granite City Baptist Church in Saint Cloud, Minnesota. This is the church that one of our schoolmates Bethany Moeller attends. We enjoyed a great time of fellowship with her and her family. Pray for her brother Jonathon as he is praying about coming to Crown next fall.

We arrived at this church a couple hours early to help judge a fine arts competition. There were several different categories including speech, music, and preaching. The young people at this church worked extremely hard in preparation for this big event. All of us thoroughly enjoyed helping with this competition.

We arrived at Juniata Christian School at 9:20 with ten minutes to set up and begin. After hurriedly constructing the display, we chose our seats anticipating students to walk in at any moment. The principal soon informed us that chapel did not begin until 10:30. Our mistake proved to be a blessing allowing us an hour to practice difficult songs and allowing us a few minutes before chapel to speak with a couple of students.

Many of the students we spoke to had never heard of The Crown College before which opened a wide door for us to testify of the difference the college and church has made in our lives. Thank you, Pastor Ohman, for allowing us the opportunity to share with your school the heart of our ministry.

The Ashmores' aunt, uncle, and grandparents came to hear us sing. The sisters were able to witness to their family whom they had not seen for some time. After they spent the afternoon with family, and Diana and Hannah spent some time at Grandpa Roenicke's house, we met again looking forward to our next place of service. Continue to pray for us as we sing "with grace in our hearts to the Lord."

The Lord gave us an amazing opportunity to attend the Reformers Unanimous meeting of First Baptist Church. RU is a program working through local churches to help those with addictions to overcome their sin through the strenght of Jesus Christ.

We attended the first group sessions where members "talk with each other" and a group counselor. In the next session, "God talks to us," we sang uplifting songs of Jesus, the successful Christian life, and Heaven. Bro. Swain brought a challenging Bible message on conformity to the image of Christ. In the last session, "talk to God," many shared blessings giving the honor and glory to God for victory.

We would like to thank Pastor Ouellette and Bro. Scott Cowling for allowing us to be a part of this ministry. This experience has further opened our eyes to the constant working of God in the lives of others from every walk of life. We truly serve a great God who cares for the lives of His children.

We were in Maranatha Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant, Michigan with Pastor Gene Haymaker. This church is having a revival meeting with Evangelist John Van Gelderen. He preached a great message entitled “Feeding on True Bread from Heaven” from John 6. Before the service, Pastor Haymaker took us to the Pixie Drive-In – favorite place of the Swains while they were dating. We enjoyed our meal there, and we sang for the employees and customers before we left.

All of us stayed with different church members overnight. Each place was very nice, and every host was very kind to us. We all appreciated their kindness and willingness to keep us in their homes. Thanks to Maranatha Baptist Church for everything you did for us!

The Swains were extra enthusiastic as we pulled up to the First Baptist Church, a landmark of memories. Bridgeport Baptist Academy warmly welcomed us to their chapel services. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to sing and testify in the elementary and high school chapels. The children taught us how to sing the Tokyo version of “I’m in the Lord’s Army,” and, in return, we taught the children “He is the Rock” from Deuteronomy 32:4. The high school students were attentive and interested in the college. A few young ladies were a great encouragement to us by staying a few minutes longer and telling us what the Lord had placed in their hearts to do with their lives. Afterward, the principal took us to Big Boys to eat. We had memorable fellowship and plenty to eat. Thank you Pastor Ouellette for allowing us to join you.

God gave us some unexpected blessings today! While singing for the employees at a gift shop, we met a young lady who will be moving to Tennessee and is looking for a Christian college. God arranged for our paths to cross!

Later in the day while visiting door to door, we were able to see two college girls trust Christ as their Savior and share the gospel with others. Praise the Lord for these Divine appointments.

Today we had the wonderful opportunity to visit Dianna Roenicke, Mrs. Swain's sister-in-law who has been diagnosed with a rare paralyzing physical ailment. Many of our fellow students have been in fervent prayer for her health. Our journey brought us to Mrs. Roenicke's hospital room at Genesys Hospital. Here we sang and ministered to Dianna and her husband Rick, family members, and hospital staff.

Soon other patients requested us to sing for them. We spent time with a few patients in the Neurotrama ICU singing for them and praying with them. After lunch, we received permission to sing in the front atrium of the hospital. Many people peered over the balconies to hear our songs of Jesus, salvation, and heaven.

Once again we learned that when trying to minister to others, often the roles are reversed and we receive a blessing in return. Mrs. Roenicke gave a wonderful testimony of God's goodness and providential care in her life. Her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ has been increased, and in turn her life strengthens those who hear her story. Please continue to pray for Dianna, her continued recovery, and for the family's strength. This is a poem Krystal wrote and read to Dianna at the hospital:

Son-shine

When the clouds engulf the sun,

And dreariness takes hold the day,

My heart sinks low in sorrow;

Heavier burdens on me lay.

I cry out to man for comfort,

Yet in the depths of despair

We sang several songs and showed “Take the High Road.” At the end of the service, four of the young people were involved in the final Sword drill of the year. We were excited for the young man who finished as the Sword drill champion.

An interesting fact about this church is that they supported Pastor Jason Wheeler when he started Lancaster Baptist Tabernacle. Thanks to Pastor McClellan and Mr. Burnham for having us in their Christian school chapel.

At our first Sunday evening service, we were received with true Christian hospitality. Pastor Wheeler and his wife encouraged us greatly, and we quickly learned to appreciate them. Thank you, Pastor and Mrs. Wheeler, for the sweet fellowship and delicious dinner.

Bro. Swain brought an encouraging message from I Thessalonians 1 & 2. He edified the members to be an example of a church through witnessing, serving, and looking for Christ’s coming. The families of this church have a true heart to win their community for the Lord. This zeal evidenced itself through the desire of the younger children to serve Christ Jesus with their lives.

We were grateful to visit with the Crown alumni and student, Hannah Coffey, while in Lancaster. New faces quickly became friends while stories, memories, and laughter were shared with brothers and sisters in Christ. It is such a blessing to meet people who have the same heart and desires for our Lord. Truly, our time here has been blessed and enjoyable.

Our first meeting this summer was at Faith Baptist Church in Lexington, Kentucky. We had a wonderful Mother’s Day service with Pastor Kevin Hearn and his church. Mr. Swain preached a sermon on “A Mother’s Love.” The people responded with open hearts. During the service, we sang several songs. Krystal and Hannah also shared their testimonies.

Afterward, we joined Pastor Hearn, Pastor Jason Wheeler, Pastor Lonnie Moore and their families for dinner at the Bella Notte, an Italian restaurant. Mr. and Mrs. Swain sat with the pastors and their wives while we enjoyed the company of Pastor Hearn’s daughters Anna Grace and Olivia. We were thrilled to hear that Olivia had recently received Christ as her Savior earlier this week.

As we begin our summer of traveling, we look forward to the opportunities the Lord has planned for us as we minister in many churches and Christian schools. We left Tennessee this afternoon and headed for Kentucky, where we will be serving in two churches of Crown College Alumni. We began our journey with an opportunity to sing for the employees of Starbucks before we left Powell. Please keep us in your prayers this summer.
